Citrus reticulata Blanco, also known as kumquat, tangerine, orange, etc., is a small tree in the Rutaceae family of the Citrus genus. Citrus has more branches and fewer thorns. Single compound leaves, leaf blades lanceolate, elliptical or broadly ovate. Flowers are solitary or clustered with 2-3 flowers. The fruit has various shapes, usually flattened to nearly spherical, with light yellow, vermilion or deep red color. The flesh is sour, sweet, bitter, or has a unique odor. Seeds may be abundant or few, sparse and seedless, usually oval in shape. The flowering period is from April to May, and the fruiting period is from October to December.
